Hi Lindsey, from my experience making written patterns and video patterns are basically entirely different. People who read written patterns don’t tend to need or want a video, and people who like videos don’t tend to want to follow written patterns as much. That means that you definitely don’t need to make a video for all (or any) patterns, maybe only for the really tricky areas. If you’re starting out I would recommend you pick one format, either written or video, and then eventually branch out down the road. Thanks for asking!

Thanks for asking. In my opinion, as long as you’re creating some sort of educational value along with the stitch (e.g. a detailed photo/video tutorial), that’s all right to sell. Whether you’ll be able to get any direct sales from this kind of a product is another question, but it’s the basic premise on which a lot of blogs and YouTube channels are founded (including this one!).
